Soft leather accentuated the smooth curves of ripe banana while the smell of fragrant tobacco merged with a spicy spanking of chilli sauce. Then layers of luscious chocolate, laced with voluptuous vanilla, coated waxed oak and coconut husk like a veil of velvet coffee beans. With water came a tantalising tingle of oaky spices and sugared almonds caressed by caramel, apricots and strawberry shoelace sweets. The flavours now embraced a racier seduction with sour cream, tart cherries and a lick of liquorice. Digestive biscuits were crumbled on to a bed of lavender before a finish of cinnamon sticks crushed over tarte tatin.
