Atop a sun-warmed haystack sat lavender and parma violets, kept cool by a grassy Caribbean breeze, while a dusting of sugar, coal ash and satsumas encrusted vanilla pods and foam bananas. The tongue was treated to bubble gum infused with black cherries and mace, blackcurrant jam and bramble liqueur. A drop of water brought forth the scent of sugar snap peas and green tomatoes, and a garden centre, as dessert wine was served in a waffle cone and topped with whipped cream. On the palate, water added a cinnamon stick to grape juice, candied ginger and marmalade.
