Blooming Flavours
The Scotch Malt Whisky SocietyAt The Scotch Malt Whisky Society, we love deeply complex and flavourful whisky in our glass. One way to achieve this is through secondary maturation in a wine cask. Here we have two different wine casks on feature – French dessert wine and Spanish sherry – to create a super-bloom of flavours! Cask No. 85.79 Balanced and textured offers up a rich profile of honey, vanilla, orchard fruits and bold spices from time in a 2nd fill Sauternes cask (Suaternes is a sweet white wine from France, made from Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon grapes). Cask No. 55.82 The gathering stillness is one of those sneaky delicious Oloroso sherry casks that was assigned a different flavour profile from the classic "Deep, rich & dried fruits". Don't let this pass you by with notes of red fruits, raisins and nuts with a creamy texture and depth that will beguile your senses!
If ordered separately: Cask No. 85.79= $155; Cask No. 55.82= $190.
