Braw Beasties
Braw Beasties
Indulge in a cask strength quartet of Braw Beasties to properly ring in 2020! Our January bundle presents uniquely beautiful bottles that will get the creative juices flowing for a new year of taste adventures. Let’s start with a textured and tasty Highland Northern dram that really shines in younger expressions. Cask 26.129 Pineapple ramen is an elegant and evocative coastal whisky that packs a complex punch – pineapple sorbet, seaweed in miso broth and mango green tea! Coastal, earthen and fruity aromas and flavours all combine for a delightful dance on the palate. Our next malt is a rare bird from Islay. Unpeated with an additional maturation in a red wine cask, Cask 10.180 Westering Rhone is a striking whisky that starts with coastal nuances before turning to red fruits, chocolate and tapenade. This is an utterly unique Islay dram worthy of your attention. We continue with a wine cask now from dessert wine and this one deserves just as much attention - Cask 1.213 Seduces and invites fantasies is a truly decadent malt that saw thirteen years in ex-Bourbon followed by one year in Pedro Ximenez sherry wood. The result is dessert in a glass redolent with all the dark confection and dried fruits one could hope for! We conclude with a lightly peated Highland whisky in Cask 66.160 Tense mysterious suspense. The palate deftly balances a thin veil of smoke with shellfish, red and black fruit and fine sherry characteristics. Entirely complex and inviting, this is a wonderful braw beastie to finish your flight … and start your new year in a wonderful world of flavours!
